Classically trained on the cello, Mathilde Mallen has been interested in electro-acoustic music since the 90s. Her instrumental and vocal research led her also to practice on amplified instruments such as electric bass, then analog synthesizers and drum machines, and explore free improvisation. In 2019, under the alias Dissemblance, she released her solo debut album 'Over The Sand' on the niche label Mannequin Records. ‘Centauresse’ is the title of her second opus released in 2023 on the New-York label L.I.E.S. records. Her compositional work oscillates between pop and Cold Wave structures. Today, she continues her research by working from Field Recordings. Her creativity is inspired by a universe made of roughness, which plays on the unexpected. Sound design for films, composition for live performances, are fields that she explores.
