A year has passed with plenty of new releases around the sonic hemispheres. Spinning around the globe, we make a pitstop for what was best or most appreciated in the main music genres.

“ What is commercial music? Is wearing a black outfit a statement for being "underground" or true to the scene? Is paying 1500 EUR for a 3-day full package a rave worthy experience? Can it be "true" Techno music if the BPM has a certain value or another one? Does music sound better at an after party and are drugs mandatory for enjoying electronic music?

 What started out in the mid 70s with Disco and later on sampled music has obviously set the scene not only for genres of music, but to generations that have come afterwards. So it's hard to assess one year when talking about masses of people and decades in time. But there are a few vulcan conclusions, related to music, to techno, to communities :

- while the music equipment that was hardly available back 20 years ago, now is available at the touch of a free mobile app;

- musical genres have not changed that much rather production has become a lot more accessible, sound quality is also a lot better;

- noise versus good music (good music meaning that follows a certain aesthetic) has always been around, today you simply need to dig more as there's exponentially more content;

- private parties, ironically for Romania given its communist times, are a thing;

- Techno music is here and is ever more present, irrespective of how it's being marketed.
