Inertia Movement presents Freedom Rucks of Interdependence

In this episode Ciprian talks with Negativland’s Mark Hosler and Jon Leidecker about their music, language and musicality of language, words, the nature of social media as a continuous collage remix.

Negativland’s work plays with crafting language and sampling recordings used in their music. Their work spans over 4 decades of time.

Concepts on their records approach freedom, economy of values and advertising of values, truth and digital media, digital selves.
Their work is primarily led by their passionate quest on language and sound information drifting and leading to new materials that sometimes speak to each other.

Mark sometimes lectures on Negativland’s adventure in art, copyright activism, and fair use.

Jon Leidecker is also teaching on " History of Sampling Music". His lectures on the secret histories of electronic music have been presented to music students from universities such as Mills College, Stanford, Oxford and UC Berkeley.

“Stand by for failure” by Ryan Worsley is the new documentary about the band and is a human ode to the quest for new samples and playing with sound material.
