This show has in display an incursion in Kiev and Johannesburg’s Club Culture. We go further with the same publication of Spector Books, Ten Cities, in collaboration with Goethe Institute. In the musical aspect, our take is less historical and more contemporary for this time, and the curious aspect goes on the connections that we can spot over the musical approaches for this two contrasting cities.

From Kiev we have Vakula, ukranian legend who from an Oberheim Ob-8 vintage synth to marimba and a set of conga drums, he knows them all up. We meet Onuka in a recent featuring with DakhaBrakha that seems to have kwaito and amapiano flavours (African music genres). As a musical extension we meet the even more contemporary labels such as Worn-pop, Kiev-based musical label that I had the chance to listen to in Berlin recently, Muscut and Dnipropop. Johannesburg brings us neo-kwaito sounds from Phat Kat, the fancy Dirty Paraffin or well-known Thebe.
