Real BAE Shit

w/ Iza & Diaspora Findikoglu
See all episodes

An (iced) caffeinated beverage in your hand, Derrida annotations from class hanging loose in your city bag, thoughts of Kiko Kostadinov’s show on the last day of PFW lingering diffusedly. Walking through the streets at peak hours, you’re feeling as if something transcendental could happen at any given moment.

The life of a diaspora girl is no easy task: keeping yourself grounded in the chatter (and the moodboards, and the dates, and the deadlines, and the plane check-in reminders…) while you’re irrevocably flung out of space. But there’s always something that can sweeten up the noise – today, it’s a Diaspora Findikoglu sonic survival kit, comprising some of the hallmark tunes that should propel any girl’s megalomaniac, cosmopolitan living.

#diasporafindikoglu is a digital mirage in the shape of a girl, conscripted to hypercommodified interests, overarching cynicism, and the nostalgia of halcyon days. In my carefully constructed microcosm, life is merely an old fashionTV ad.
