MRR of the Drumetrics crew joins Kidahm for this month’s episode. MRR is Michael Raymond Russell, a producer and visual artist from San Diego, California, US. He is the founder of the collective and record label known today as Drumetrics, which is the finished product of what he and William Benjamin Bensussen (The Gaslamp Killer) began in 1999 as MHE (Machines Have Emotions), morphing later into a collective called Dirtydrums that derived from sampling drum breaks from old vinyl & editing on an Akai MPC 2000. From there, MRR and his Drumetrics crew took the production to the next level by engineering and recording the sounds captivated as they did 50+ years ago producing with vacuum tube & transistor analogue gear.
