Conflating both hip-hop and geek culture, producer/DJ kidkanevil has consistently made music that’s true to him. His consumption and infatuation for anime, manga, computer game music, beats, bass, hip-hop and jazz has provided his own beats an imaginative realm, and giving the tracks personalities that range from impish to ethereal to pensive, thus earning him the praise and respect of numerous peers and journalists.
A Red Bull Music Academy alumni, the British-born, Berlin-based producer has spent the last few years between studio sessions and production work with artists like Massive Attack, Connie Constance and Ocean Wisdom, and touring worldwide as part of M.I.A.'s live show. Working most of the time on his own music from his Berlin apartment, kidkanevil continues to display an impressive work rate, with lots of LPs and EPs in his discography, but also hosting his own “61 Colours” radio show on Refuge Worldwide.
