GMT - Gully Music Time

This episode of GMT - Gully Music Time comes as a warm-up for the first event of Black Rhino Radio Residency at Club Control on the 15th of October. Rupture London's head honchos Mantra and DoubleO along Blackeye MC are headliners, so it is only natural to put in perspective some of the jungle music particularities. First to answer the call are long-time friends and broadcasters Fane and Vapor. For this episode, they changed the focus from grime music to bass music, speeding up the tempo for a proper jungle music set. 

Born and raised in the local music scene as MCs, Fane and Vapor, answer the question:” How do you feel as an MC when you hear the jungle beat?”

Fane: As an MC, whenever I’m listening to any music genre, my first thought is: what would I spit on this riddim? Though many genres don’t come naturally to me, jungle music gets me there with its dynamic soul and awesome vibe.

Vapor: As an MC, whenever I hear a jungle beat, I feel I need to shut up for at least 1 minute to calibrate and sink in before I start spitting. Or maybe a pull-up!
