The second session of Black Rhino Artist in Residence programme (watch here the first session with Valerinne and Mytrip) brings together Environments and MGCH. With a deep sound coming from ambient and noise, both artists are affiliated to the 148Records label. Pushing the sound to the far edge of sonic exploration the the two artists carefully crafted an emotional music journey. Each residency aims to promote the process of collaboration, producing and recording a song. It interests us how artists work and negotiate musical ideas in order to reach a common goal. We are happy to present you the result of this session by introducing the song Gradient. You can listen the full track on Soundcloud and watch the documented video of this residency episode on YouTube. The video version also features interviews with the artists. You can purchase the track following our Bandcamp page.

Words about Environments:

Environments is an experimental trio from Bucharest, Romania, started in 2011 by two childhood friends and two once members of a metal band - Alex "Para" Ghiță (drums), Ștefan Panea (Guitar / Keys) and Marius Costache (Noise, Production, Visuals).Their music doesn’t usually cater to the normal structures involving verses, refrain and choruses and they don't care about genres or sounding like anybody else. They have already released four albums and while the first three were selfreleased, their latest full album,“Ascuns", was released through Dunk!Records and it is available for digital download as well as on Cd on their Bandcamp page. The band played throughout Europe in countries such as Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Moldavia, Belgium and Czech Republic.

Words about MGCH:

Andru is a musical chameleon due to his impressive ability to create any kind of music.
Like, any!Andru started in Craiova with a small project called Candlestickmaker and changed progressively the musical registers. The variety of projects he created and developed tells that no rhythm is strange to him, from breezy pop or droning electro to sleepy minimal and ecstatic IDM.You can catch Andru performing live with his ambient project Semiosis, his techno outfit MCGH or together with CLNK under the name Fjord.
