Black Rhino Residency • Saturday, November 16 • Control
Room 1: Legowelt [NL], Herodot, Romansoff
Room 2: Te Doare (all night set)

For the 14th instalment of Black Rhino Residency in Control, we change the tempo and dig into the synths and electronica realm by inviting the legendary Legowelt [NL] to headline the night in Room 1 of the club.

The night opens with Bucharest born and raised Romansoff, one of the local music scene's finest selectors, and closes with the music producer and DJ Herodot, who joins the lineup with a specially crafted set showcasing his vast electronic music universe.

Room 2 of the club hosts an all-nighter set from Te Doare, a versatile DJ forged in the underground scene of Cluj Napoca, who did his musical residency in the well-known Gazette club.

LEGOWELT
His vast musical output spans many different worlds – some real, some imagined - and does so in a unique and captivating fashion that keeps listeners enthralled. Since first emerging in the early nineties as a key part of the Dutch West Coast scene and Intergalactic FM family, he has become a core member pioneers but also fantasy films and sci-fi culture, and is nowadays a modern day techno pin-up in his own rite. We are happy to host this set especially that Legowelt has just released his new album 'A Field Guide To The Void'.

Danny Wolfers records under myriad aliases but Legowelt is his most celebrated ever since he hit the charts with 2002’s ‘Disco Rout’, a track that really put him on the map. The ensuing years have seen him forever tweaking his mystical, misty and mystic forest techno sounds and have seen him grow in demand as a live performer. When playing in clubs around the world he creates captivating sound tracks on the fly, soundtracks that force listeners to play imaginary films in their heads and dance non stop. Legowelt, then, is a true performer, creator and innovator with a fierce work rate that puts the rest of the world to shame.

HERODOT
Dj, producer, label owner, sound engineer and one of Bucharest's underground most talented secret weapons, Herodot is no stranger to the clubbing scene. He started mixing many years ago while still a teenager and since then he has become one of the respected Romanian DJs among both artists and the audience.

Best known for keeping the party going for endless hours until nobody can dance anymore, Herodot has proven his creativity not only behind the decks, but also as a producer. It's been two years since he launched Unanim Records with his friend Piticu and just recently signed his first EP on the label. Even though Duo EP is his first release, it is impossible to not have heard one of his unreleased tracks if you're going to the right parties.

ROMANSOFF
Tudor Gheorghe, also known by his stage moniker Romansoff, is a Bucharest based DJ, producer & vinyl collector with more than 12 years of experience on Romania’s capital underground club scene. Heavily influenced by the small local underground parties in the 2000’s, Romansoff was motivated to begin collecting vinyl which soon then after led to him starting djing. This, alongside his natural talent and dedication, has helped him become an important member of Bucharest’s electronic music scene and has shared decks with many guests over the years.

With variate dj influences, showing both versatility and creativity, he’s a regular guest at many of Bucharest’s best club nights. Having a vast musical background and quite a few interesting projects on the side, such as his own radio show on Black Rhino Radio, Romansoff is a key figure of the Capital’s local music community.

TE DOARE
Te Doare is one of the DJs who rose from the underground electronic scene in Cluj, forged in the residency of the former Gazette club and cultural hub. He has a penchant for various genres, including electronica, post-punk, electro, techno, and more, and his passion for music knows no bounds.

He was invited to different radio shows to showcase his musical selection, but he also has his spot at Black Rhino Radio, with the monthly 'Do Not Call The Doctor'.
